Marlene Dietrich began her career as a film star in Pre-Nazi Germany and was discovered there in 1930 and signed to a contract in Hollywood by Paramount Pictures.  In 1950, she starred in Alfred Hitchcock's thriller, Stage Fright.  In that movie, Miss Dietrich wears a lovely diamond pinky ring throughout the film.
