In 1930, The Blue Angel opened in Berlin, starring Marlene Dietrich--this is where this world-class star was born.  Paramount chief, B.P. Schulberg, brought her to Hollywood and invited her to an A-list party.  She walked several hundred feet into the room--at that moment, Schulberg announced "Ladies and gentlemen, Paramount's new star, Marlene Dietrich".  She wore this impressive emerald and diamond ring in a publicity photo.
