Carole Lombard was born Jane Alice Peters in 1908.  In 1930, Paramount Studios signed her to a 7-year contract.  Their chief costume designer once said, "throw a bolt of material around Carole and any way it hits her, she'll look great"...she was named Best Dressed Actress of 1935.  In her casting of Hands Across the Table, she wore a unique champagne diamond ring.
