Betty Grable was once Francis Dean as preferred by mogul Samuel Goldwyn and was usually cast in small roles such as a chorus line dancer.  After her contract ended with Goldwyn, she went back to being Betty Grable and got bigger and better parts--at the height of her career, she was the highest paid star in the business!  She was a favorite pin-up girl of WW II, and one photo featured her in a dazzling cognac-colored diamond ring.
